Slow down so you can speed up.

More is not always better. Sometimes, more spread out over a longer period of times lets you get achieve more than if you tried it all at once. One of the greatest learnings I ever had dealt with injuries. My over arching purpose is not to prevent all injuries. My purpose is to train you so you minimize any injuries that may occur and help you recuperate faster than you you would have had you had one major injury that took you “out of the race” longer than necessary.

One of the main secrets for people out of shape, people with an injury or people over 40 getting into shape again is one word, "MODIFY".  Modify the exercise so you don't injure or re-injure your knee, hip, elbow, shoulder, finger, toe, muscles, tendons and ligaments, etc. A bad trainer will push you harder. A good trainer will know all the options. He’ll slow down at first and modify some movements early so your body as a whole can catch up. Then you can make major progress later. Otherwise, you’re doomed.
